As The Depot celebrates its 40th anniversary, we are pleased to announce that the Board unanimously selected Jennifer Brennan (right) and Marguerite Kinfack (left) as Co-Executive Directors to lead The Depot into its next chapter.
This appointment follows a comprehensive recruitment process conducted in partnership with Millésime, an executive search firm specializing in nonprofit leadership recruitment. The process included both internal and external candidates and reflected the Board’s commitment to strong governance and thoughtful succession planning.
Together, Jennifer and Marguerite bring more than two decades of experience at The Depot and will step into their roles as Co-Executive Directors with a deep understanding of the organization, its mission, and the community it serves.
Over her 10 years at The Depot, Jennifer has held a number of roles, most recently serving as Director of Development and Communications. She played a leadership role in the creation of The Depot’s Healthy Food Policy, helping to centre nourishing food across the organization and strengthen The Depot’s role as a leader in healthy food access and community well-being. Most recently, she has led the organization’s fundraising, communications, and community engagement efforts.
Marguerite has been a member of The Depot’s leadership team for more than a decade, providing strategic leadership across operations, finance, human resources, and organizational development. Her thoughtful and collaborative approach has helped strengthen the organization’s systems, culture, and long-term sustainability.
Over the past four months, Jennifer and Marguerite have served as Interim Co-Executive Directors, working closely with the Board and leadership team to further develop a collaborative leadership model that reflects their complementary expertise and shared accountability. As The Depot approaches its 40th anniversary and looks toward the future, The Board is excited about the opportunities this model creates for long-term sustainability, resilience, and innovation.
This moment would not be possible without the extraordinary leadership of Tasha Lackman, who recently became Chief Executive Officer of Centraide of Greater Montreal. On behalf of the Board, I would like to express our deep gratitude to Tasha for her vision, dedication, and mentorship. Her leadership helped strengthen The Depot in countless ways and laid the foundation for a thoughtful and successful transition.
Jennifer and Marguerite shared the following reflection on their appointment:
“We are honoured by the confidence the Board has placed in us and grateful for the opportunity to lead this organization together. We care deeply about our team, participants, volunteers, donors, and community partners, and remain unwavering in our commitment to ensuring that nourishing food is accessible to everyone, not a privilege for some. Over the years, we have seen firsthand the power of our programs to improve health, build connections, and create a stronger, more resilient community.”
Please join me in congratulating Jennifer and Marguerite on their appointment.
Thank you for your ongoing support of The Depot. We look forward to continuing this important work together.
Warm regards,

Susan Kessler, President of the Board of Directors
