Volunteers are a vital resource here at The Depot.
Many of you are reaching out to help your community in this turbulent time. Thank you for thinking of us!
We are keeping our team very small for safety reasons and aren’t actively recruiting at the moment, but we’d love for you to join our volunteer team on a more regular basis once things settle down. Please use the form below to leave your contact details so we can stay in touch. Click here for other ways to support The Depot during COVID-19.
Every day, our dedicated volunteers play key roles in helping us to address hunger and food insecurity in our community in a manner that prioritizes dignity, community engagement, and the development of human potential. Reliable volunteers who want to make a difference are always welcome to join our dynamic team. Most of our programs rely on volunteers, so whether your interests lie in cooking, workshop facilitation, food basket and meal distribution, driving, reception or special events, there’s almost certainly a volunteer opportunity for you.
The Depot staff are committed to providing all volunteers with role-specific training and the support they need to fulfill the roles to which they are assigned. Our volunteers tell us they have learned new skills, built friendships, strengthened their ties to the local community, and feel satisfied that they’ve helped to bring about positive change!
Please let us know if you have any special skills you can share, or areas in which you’d like to grow. We want to find the best fit for you. Most of our volunteers help out for 2-3 hours once per week. Also, although there are certain events that call for one-time or occasional volunteers, the nature of our programming means that most of our positions involve a commitment of at least a few months or more.
Thanks for your interest in supporting Good Food for All!
How to Get Involved
The first step to becoming a volunteer is to tell us a little bit about yourself.
Check out our current volunteer opportunities page, where you can browse our seasonal positions and apply directly if you find one (or several) that interest you.
You can also fill out our general online application form. This will be followed by an invitation to a Volunteer Information Session where you can find out about the variety of roles volunteers occupy and find the right fit for you. Please note that this could take a few weeks as we only have a certain number of spots available.
If you’re a student looking to complete community service hours for school, please email the volunteer coordinator. In your email please include your name, contact info, your age and number of hours to complete and the date you need to complete them by and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
