Boîte à Lunch: Teen

Boîte à Lunch’s teen workshops are open to grade 6 students and high-school students. Students learn to prepare nutritious meals that they can bring to school the next day for lunch.

What we offer:

  • A series of 20 drop-in educational cooking and nutrition workshops per year.
  • Team preparation of sophisticated, nutritious and delicious culturally-diverse recipes that can be easily replicated at home, including reading and comprehension of recipe steps, familiarization with new ingredients and kitchen tools necessary for the recipes, and the recipe preparation itself.
  • The contents of a healthy lunch box for each participant after each workshop.
  • A recipe book for each youth to take home upon completion of the session, so they can reproduce the recipes at home.
  • An encouraging and collaborative  learning environment.
  • The opportunity to practice French language skills in a safe and non-academic environment, as well as the validation of participants’ cultural knowledge.
  • Exposure to other community resources for teens and their family.
