Volunteers are a vital resource at the Depot
Every day, our dedicated volunteers play a key role in helping us fight hunger and food insecurity in our community in a way that prioritizes dignity, community involvement and the development of human potential. Most of our programs depend on volunteers, including the production, distribution and delivery of food baskets, the preparation of community meals, cooking workshops with seniors and youth, reception and communication tasks, and occasional special events.
The Depot team is committed to providing all volunteers with role-specific training and ongoing support to enable them to fulfill their assigned roles. Our volunteers tell us they have learned new skills, forged new friendships, strengthened their connection with the local community and are pleased to have contributed to positive change.
Our volunteers give three hours of their time, once a week. While some events call for one-off or occasional volunteers, the nature of our programming means that most roles require a weekly commitment of at least a few months. Reliable volunteers who want to make a difference are welcome to join our dynamic team!
